Over A Millenia – The History of Colloidal Silver

The history of colloidal silver is rich and steeped in thousands of years of research and technological advancement. Going back more than a millenia, silver’s history is woven throughout some of the world’s most famous and intriguing stories.

Results RNA has been at the forefront of silver research for over 20 years. ACS 200 Extra Strength Silver, our flagship product, combines the knowledge gained throughout silver’s history with the technological advancements of the future.

By applying our Advanced Cellular technology, Results RNA has created the future of colloidal silver.
Below, we take a look at how silver has been used throughout the ages.

Ancient Times

In 550 BC, King Cyrus of Persia refused to drink water that was not transported in silver containers; which kept the water fresh for years.

Born in 460 BC, Hippocrates, the “Father of Western Medicine” used silver in his medical practice to combat spoilage and mitigate infection. He promoted the use of powdered silver.

In 335 BC, Alexander the Great demanded his water be kept and served in silver vessels. Silver was and continued to be the standard of royal health for centuries.

The Middle Ages

European royals and wealthy families stored water, wine, and food in silver containers to delay spoilage. They also used silver utensils and dishware to eat, believing this would add to the cleanliness of their meals. In addition to being a sign of wealth, silver was also a sign of health and prosperity.

Silverware is even believed to have protected the wealthy from the full brunt of the plague.

During the Middle Ages, monks popularized the use of silver nitrate, a salt formed by reacting silver with nitric acid.

Chinese emperors and their courts ate with silver chopsticks as well.

1700s-Mid-1800s

Early settlers in the Australian outback suspended silverware in their water tanks to slow down spoilage.

In America, Dr. Georgia Arbuckle Fix used a silver plate in a Cranioplasty surgery. Legend has it, she pounded the thin plate out herself from a silver coin. She did this in hopes of keeping the wound clean.

The Late 1800s

In the 1880s, Karl Crede, a German obstetrician found that dilute solutions of silver nitrate significantly lowered the percentage of blindness in newborns. Administering silver eye drops after birth became common practice in the United States by the early 1900s.

The 1900s

The 1900s was an exciting time for silver use. With the history to back it up, medical researchers and scientists had all the proof they needed to go forward with new hypotheses and experiments.

Medical researcher, Henry Crookes realized the true power of colloidal silver in 1910 and was instrumental in furthering colloidal silver research.

In 1928, scientist G.A. Krouse used silver coatings in the water filtration systems of swimming pools.

From 1900 to 1940, silver bloomed within the healthcare industry, and was used for a wide variety of health applications. By 1939, more than 96 different silver-based formulas were in use, including IV preparations, as listed in The Council on Pharmacy and Chemistry of the American Medical Association.

With the advent of modern medicine, and a general crowding of the medical space, silver was left by the wayside as researchers and doctors hoped to be at the forefront of new medical discoveries. The power of silver, however, is and has always been timeless. As consumers and doctors grow weary of the side-effects of these less natural solutions, their eyes turn back to silver.

Modern Research and Silver Use

Silver is just as relevant today as it was millennia ago. With new research and technology, many of the silver products available today offer more strength, efficacy, and safety than ever before. Silver use has evolved alongside humanity and continues to evolve still. The future of silver is sure to astound us all. The most popular uses for silver today are colloidal silver, and topical silver gel. The most popular types of colloidal silver products are:

  • Ionic Silver
  • Silver Protein
  • Advanced Cellular Silver
  • Liposomal Silver
  • Silver Hydrosol
  • Silver Compounds

Before deciding which colloidal silver to go with, make sure to do plenty of research. Some major differences, besides their delivery and manufacturing methods, are: parts per million, quality, sourcing, bioavailability, and price.

How Is Silver Good for Health?

In the body, silver fights alongside the immune system, offering exceptional immune support and promoting profound cellular regeneration. When made well by trained professionals, silver is completely safe and can also aid in detoxification and promoting cellular regeneration.
